Last winter

Last winter was difficult,

I cried in the side seats of public buses

Felt a heavy stone at the middle of  my chest

Last winter was difficult

Saw the unbelievable  death of love

Lost my appetite  for life

Last winter was difficult

Everyone I knew was fighting in the streets

The normal past I lived felt so distant

I travelled alone with a heavy heart

Broke down  while talking to a complete stranger

Slept on the same page for an eternity

We went out seeking warmth for a while

And I  curled  down under my quilt at the nights

feeling the emptiness  of an unavoidable void

This winter comes along like a

cold reminder of the last one

It cant be that hard, I sigh

Last winter was difficult
